As the lead UX & Frontend Development I’m responsible for the awesome design and frontend quality of customer communities of large companies like Sonos, Soundcloud, Philips, KPN, Telfort, KNAB, BNP Paribas, Hello Bank! and Albert Heijn. These brands consider their community as the cornerstone of an effective customer experience strategy, and some have even made their community their companies’ primary contact channel. My team design and build awesome branded communities with the state-of-the-art inSided community engagement (Software as a Service) platform.

inSided is one of the fastest growing SaaS companies in Europe. I’m part of the Professional Services team, where I’m responsible for guiding, coaching and inspiring the implementation team. The implementation team is divided by 2 designers and 8 developers.

My main objective was to simplify the workflow, make the wasted time visible on projects within the implementation team and reducing the gap between design and development. Also took the opportunity to improve the communication of the whole company. I started with design. I created, together with the design team, a fully functional design system, using Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, and Dropbox. Besides that, I introduced weekly review and sparring sessions with all design teams. Also was part of the start of a pattern/component library used by implementation and product. This component library is to easily re-use components in other projects.
